Aqua FAQs.
Q. What is the minimum group size for Aqua?
A. Aqua is ideal for employers with 2-50 employees.
Q. Who will be most interested in Aqua?
A. Small businesses with 2-50 employees who:
- May not currently offer a health plan because of premium costs
- Offer a plan whose premiums exceed their budget
- Offer several health plans and want to simplify their administration
- Offer multiple health plans but want a lower-priced, cost-effective solution
Q. How is Aqua different than Consumer Driven Health Plans?
A. Aqua does not require employers or employees fund a Health Savings Account (HSA) or a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA). There is “first-dollar coverage” – which means there is no initial deductible to meet so that everyone gets some coverage, if and when they need it. And the Aqua Health and Wellness Card helps employees pay for services they already use – like massage or a gym membership.
Q. What are the differences in the two Aqua benefits packages?
A. To help you target the health plan that best fits your company’s budget, Aqua offers two packages with the same basic coverage but with two different levels of deductible and out-of-pocket maximums. As many small-business employees do not currently have health coverage and are concerned about their out-of-pocket expenses, both packages have full hospitalization.
Q. Who will help me present the details of Aqua to my employees?
A. Your account representative from BlueShield of Northeastern New York will meet with you and your staff or you may call your broker directly.
Q. How will Aqua help my company explain this new product to our employees?
A. Aqua Instructor™ is a tool that will walk you through every phase of this small business health plan including how to track the Aqua Allowance, the Aqua Health and Wellness Card, the deductible, and out-of-pocket expenses. With this resource, your employees can learn at their own pace. Aqua Instructor also offers healthy lifestyle programs and menus and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to blend in with an active work schedule and home life.
Q. Can Aqua be used with a Flexible Spending Account?
A. Yes. The deductible, coinsurance, and other qualifying out-of-pocket expenses may be paid with pre-tax dollars.
